Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations Feb. 5, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
Air Operations in Afghanistan:
Close-Air Support
Musa Qala
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for a coalition-led, Afghan National Army convoy. The pilots conducted several shows of force as the convoy transited a village. Later, as the convoy came under enemy grenade fire, one of the pilots released a precision-guided munition on the enemy firing position. The enemy fire ceased with the destruction of the site and weapon.
