WASHINGTON — Former President Clinton was hospitalized Thursday after experiencing heart discomfort and had two stents placed in a coronary artery, an adviser said.The adviser, Douglas Band, said Clinton was in “good spirits” after undergoing the procedure at New York Presbyterian Hospital.Clinton had quadruple bypass surgery at the hospital in 2004 to open four blocked arteries.The former president has been working in recent weeks to help relief efforts in Haiti. Since leaving office, he has maintained a busy schedule working on humanitarian projects through his foundation.His wife, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, met with President Obama as scheduled Thursday.
