LYNCHBURG, Va. — A 1975 graduate of Lynchburg College has given $250,000 to his alma mater to create a scholarship fund for veterans.
Dr. John D. Bower is encouraging others to follow his lead, promising another $250,000 if donors can match that amount. If that challenge is met, Lynchburg College said it will create a veterans center on campus.
Bower is a retired medical doctor who served four years in the Navy before attending Lynchburg College.
