Two Marines died Friday while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, the Defense Department announced Monday.
Lance Cpl. Joshua H. Birchfield, 24, of Westville, Ind., died in Helmand province, Afghanistan, while supporting combat operations. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, out of Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Cpl. Gregory S. Stultz, 22, of Brazil, Ind., also died in Helmand province while supporting combat operations. He was assigned to the Okinawa, Japan-based 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion.
More information was not immediately available about either Marine.
