A Marine died Sunday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department reported Tuesday afternoon.
Lance Cpl. Matthias N. Hanson, 20, of Buffalo, Ky., was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, out of Camp Lejeune, N.C.
