Two Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based Marines died Sunday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department reported Tuesday afternoon.
Lance Cpl. Matthias N. Hanson, 20, of Buffalo, Ky., was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines.
Lance Cpl. Eric L. Ward, 19, of Redmond, Wash., was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines.
