I am earning my MBA and MHA and will finish my coursework in May 2005 which means that I would need to attend COT next Summer (If I get in). I spoke with several people at the ACHE congress and was told that I would need to submit my application before the selection board meets in October. Does anyone know what steps I need to take next? I have contacted my local recruiter, but he has not been too helpful (not returning phone calls or emails). Should I just show up at his office?

Yes, show up at his/her office and don't leave until you get the answers you want. They are just blowing you off until you get closer to your graduation.

: Hi there, I recently completed my MHA as well and look forward to submitting my packet for Direct Commission as an Health Administrator.

You are correct in the fact that the selection board only meets once a year, however I believe that the board meets before October as if you are accepted October is the actual month in which you would attend COT.

As far as your difficulties in getting in contact with your recruiter, I would suggest going to www.airforce.com to receive your initial information (although Direct Commission information is limited.) However, you could also look up recruiters in your area (maybe there is someone else that you could contact.)

However, at this point there is not much that you could do to prepare excluding the weight, age, and physical fitness requirements. You can not submit a packet now...as they do not start accepting this information until July or so. However, at least if you meet with a recuriter ASAP you will know what you will need to have.

I meet with my recruiter on Tuesday for more information gathering on top of what I already know. I initially obtained my information from family members and friends who received Direct Commissioning or that attended OTS/OCS.

Hope this helps.

Chanel.

BY the way what school are you attending? Did you take the GMAT's or GRE's?
