Hi - I am a girl , thinking of enlistment and can someone tell me about this occupation IMAGERY ANALYSIS . How long is the tech training for it ? Also does one have to have a college degree to be a historian ( AFSC 4T0X2) for the Air Force ( history was my strength ) . I scored 89 on my test and wonder if I am qualified . My recruiter is no help.

Tech school is about 6 months for Intelligence career fields. It is hard to get the exact job you want nowadays when coming into the Armed Forces. Good luck with that. I knew an enlisted Historian and she did not have her Bachelors Degree. A lot of Historians are being outsourced to civilians. So good luck with that too. You did very well on the ASVAB. This will open you up to all kinds of Intelligence jobs. You will have to go to basic training FIRST, before you can pick your job though. I've put lots of folks in that way and they seem to be happy with the choices. You'll hear rumors from people that you will end up being a cop if you go to basic without knowing your job. WRONG. That only happens if you did not do well on the ASVAB. The fact is, you should want the Air Force for all of the opportunities it has to offer. So if you don't get the exact job you wanted, you have all the benefits to reap. Education, free leave, travel, medical, etc... Besides, if every one had the exact job they wanted, it would be a perfect world. You must be flexible to the needs of the Air Force if you want to be a member. Good Luck.
