In my unit I am the only 71L, the pros is the deep rewarding feeling you get when you fix some poor guys administration problems.**I went to AIT and learnt what we are supposed to know, depending on where you are at most 71L's do more.**As far as slow promotion, work on your points, get a college education/ correspondence courses/ and keep that PT score up.**I'm looking at 75B when I'm a SGT, do you know anyone with that MOS?

: What are the pros and cons of this MOS besides slow promotion time.**Lisa, any position you take with the military can vary depending on what type of unit you are in.**A 71L is a clerk typist, however, I belonged to a reserve unit that collected data on EPOW/POW's and then we would send it to the pentagon.**The 71L in my unit originally kept track of how many prisoners were in each camp then we were replaced and sent to the camp to process the prisoners.**So, I think you should base your decision on what type of unit you will be joining after graduation.**Good Luck with your choice.**If you have any other questions you can e-mail me.
