I'm going to basic but it's the one unit station training thing, and my recruiter said that more than likely I wont get to come home between basic and ait. So my question is how much should I pack? I have my list and all, but I'm still kinda woundering what I can bring to to both and not get in trouble for. Please help me out if you can.

Well, I didn't either, I had a bag that I brought with and a box that I packed for my mom to send me, as long as you realize that all things are locked up while you are in basic pretty much bring what you wish.**As I remember not allowed were guns, knifes, cigarettes, and I believe *bad* magazines.**That pretty much leaves everything that you would think to bring okay.**:)**Just have a lock on the suitcase you bring with so you can secure your stuff and don't make it too big since you will be acquiring military clothing and a duffel bag.**Which can get heavy!Jen: I'm going to basic but it's the one unit station training thing, and my recruiter said that more than likely I wont get to come home between basic and ait. Please help me out if you can.** Angela, as far as I can remember I basically took anything I wanted, including a walkman.**However, I chose to travel light because of the items I would be issued upon arriving at my basic training site.**The other things that I needed/wanted, I bought at the PX.**It really doesn't matter anyway, because they make you lock up all personal items in one room until you graduate.**Make sure you have the means to put a lock on whatever type of bag you decide to pack.**Also, don't take any snacks.**This can a bad thing if you get caught.**If you have any other questions you can e-mail me at kchanson@gateway.net
