My name is Meghan Starr. I am currently in a program called web Cadets (webcadets.seacadet.com) and have started my own program called Teen Troopers (www.homestead.com/start_jrotc/teentroopers.html). I am enrolled Girl Scouts and am currently working on my Gold Award , the highest award in Girl Scouts. After completing 50 hours of leadership, i am going to enter information on women in the military in to the database at the women in military service memorial. I will also set up a display there and start an educational program. After I earn the award I am going to quit Girl Scouts in order to join the Civil Air Patrol. I am also working on another huge project. I am trying to start a JROTC at our high school, and there isnt even a program in the county! Now for the military part of it. I hope to attend West Point, then go to the Army Medical School to become a field surgeon. I dont know if many of you have read the book "In the Men's house" by Captain Carol Barkalow, or know her personally, but I'd have to say she is my idol. If anybody can help me with any of my projects or ambitions, I would greatly apreciate it.

Good Luck with everything that you do! I am also in the CIVIL AIR PATROL. I love it. I have been in for 4 years and I am a Cadet 2nd LT and the Cadet Commander. If you have any questions about it I would be happy to help. Do you have to wait unitl you get out of girl scouts to join? I waited til I got out of cheerleading back in high school and I regret it because I missed alot of opportunities. Over the summer there are encampments on military bases that you can attend. They are a lot of fun, and a great learning expercience. The sooner you join the more you can do.
