chandra, I was taking bobby pins and gel to hold my hair back and up oh yeah and hair ties. I was told by someone in the army that you should get up a few minutes before they come and wake you up so that you can do your hair. Also I wanted to say that I went to your website and its really cute and you have a beautiful family. Your two boys are gorgeous!!! Marie

Chanda, I had long hair all my military career except for one time. That is when we deployed to Saudi, we were all required to cut our hair short in my division. Although I didn't like it, the bottom line was that it did grow back. You'll have enough to worry about in basic without having to expend extra time over your hair. If you cut it off for basic, it will grow back to where you like. I just suggest you cut it because they length you have it at, it will fall down easily and they will hassle you over it. If you cut for the duration it's just one less thing to mess with. It will also free up your time for little things that you will need like sleep. I know how we all love our hair, but like I said it will grow back.
