I am off to Ft. Bragg, NC for my first duty station on August 1 but I haven't run since I graduated AIT on June 27th. I know that they run a lot there but I need help with the motivation part. I am use to running with a group and now I have no one to run with. I am also scared as this is the real thing and not just training. My MOS is 92A and I don't know which job I will be assigned to since I am not going airborne. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yep, what you're getting into is the real thing. Ft. Bragg is number 1 on the deployment list. If you're not motivated now, you will be once you get there. The 82nd is a Division with a long and glorious history and they are extrememly proud of it and instill it's pride into you.

They do run a lot, as do every other division. If nothing else just get out and walk. Don't be afraid. Ft. Bragg is a great place to be. Be ready though to be called a leg quite a bit because you aren't airborne. There's no disgrace in that, they're just proud of what they are.

Do your job to the best of your ability and you will have no problems. You may even find yourself wanting to go airborne once you get there. Just remember this is the only Airborne Division in the US Army. It's one of a kind and they are very very proud of that fact and aren't afraid to let anyone know it.
