I was just wondering...how soon after you get sworn in and speak to your counselor do you actually ship out? marie

Depends on how quick then can fill the basic training class. Sometimes you can leave as quickly as in one day, others it can take 6 - 8 months. It's a slot thing.

I left within about a month of being sworn in. I signed on December 8, 1987 and left for basic on like January 11, 1988. I have been in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 12 years and still love it. GOOD LUCK and enjoy the ride.
