Anyone who RECENTLY finished Basic @ Ft. Jackson please tell me if visitors are still allowed to visit you on Sunday's during basic. When I was there in 96 my husband and children were able to come on Sunday's for a few hours. I am just wondering if they have changed their policies.

I went to Jackson from Sept to Nov. We were only allowed visitors on family day (the day before graduation.) Anything else had to be an emergency and cleared through the drill sergeants. One girl almost didn't graduate because she was seen talking to her husband two days before graduation!

I am an officer stationed as second in command of a Basic Combat Training company. I work with a new set of Basic Trainees every 9 weeks so I am intimately aware of the Basic Training Curriculum. Soldiers in Training are not allowed visits except on the Family Visitation day the day before Graduations. Soldiers are allowed limited phone privileges during Basic Training so mail is the best way soldiers can communicate with home. Hope this helps.
