Default How it works over here...

I´m writing from Sweden. Since USA is such a recognized military power in the world, I´m quite curious of how it works. Anyway, here´s how it works over here. All men 18-47 are forced by law to do military service. Most men serve 7-18 months in either the civilian or the military defence. All women 18-47 can sign a "contract" wich gives them exactly the same rights and dutys as the men. I´ve signed such a "contract". I´m currently chief of my companys medic-group. I belong to the half of the army which is something like your reserves. Are women weaker than men? Well, every man that has witnessed a woman giving birth can bear witness that no - she is definetly not weak to pain and hard work. There is nothing stronger than a mother defending her child. So am I not a strong soldier?

I agree with you to every point about the child birth thing. Did you know that the male equvilent(sp) of giving birth would be to urinate golf balls for 12 hours? That makes most guys scream if you even tell them that. And the fact that In Sweden you can have the same rights as men makes me wish that my great grandmother had never left Gotenburg...
