We cannot change the law overnight that women cannot be in front-line combat or infantry divisions. And I agree that we need to do what is best for the military and service before self, but I do not understand how this should prevent any women from gettting training as a Sniper. Obviously it is possible for a woman to go through the training, regardless of how often or if they will ever use the training. If anything it is benificial to the miltary and demonstrates service before self that we should recieve it. There are plenty of women who are in military police units that have had to return fire outside of combat zones. Would it not be benificial for the miltary to have a trained sniper in those situations? As far as men and women living in close proximaty, that depends on the maturity level of both sides. I am the only female in my building and I have used the shower at work (no locking door) and have had no problems with the men in my work place. Why? Becuase they do not think of me as a female but as a worker like them. I have a good rapport with the people I work with and they see that I am capable of the same job as them. So please tell me how it would be a disservice to this country for a women to recieve sniper training?
