MarSOC welcomes 40 new members

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — More than 40 Marines have completed the Special Operations Command’s seven-month training course and are set to graduate.The Marines will graduate from the command’s second training course on Thursday at a ceremony at Camp Lejeune. The training course focuses on advanced medical and communications skills, tactics and counterinsurgency doctrine. It is the second graduating class since the Marines streamlined their training course in 2009.The Marine Corps Special Operations Command was started in 2006. Its more than 2,000 Marines have deployed worldwide over the last three years, including combat rotations in Afghanistan and missions to train foreign armies in Africa.
