3 Lejeune Marines killed in Afghan fighting

Three North Carolina-based Marines died Thursday while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, according to the Pentagon.
They are:
Sgt. Jeremy R. McQueary, 27, of Columbus, Ind.
Lance Cpl. Kielin T. Dunn, 19, of Chesapeake, Va.
Lance Cpl. Larry M. Johnson, 19, of Scranton, Pa.
McQueary and Johnson were assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion. Dunn was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines. Both units are based at Camp Lejeune.
No other information was immediately available.
The two battalions are part of a 15,000-strong NATO force currently engaged in a massive assault targeting Taliban militants in the town of Marjah. Operation Moshtarak, which includes some 5,000 Marines, has been under way for about a week.
